Masterpiece Classic cars is quickly becoming well known for the place to find top quality Trans Ams. The common expression, “In Our Wheelhouse”, comes to mind. So when we bring one in like this fellow, and state she is an excellent and well looked after example, take it to the bank folks.
There is a local Trans Am collector near us who has found a way to keep a quiver full of these Pontiacs in his garages. He only buys top shelf examples and he holds onto them for the “pride of possession factor”. He does all this and somehow manages to not have his wife grab the kids and move back in with her parents. I find that as interesting as his remarkable collection and deep knowledge of the brand.

We all know that when it comes to colors on a Trans Am, the popular prejudice runs in favor of black and gold. But not everyone wants a black car and for them we are happy to present the second favorite color choice in a T/A, and it’s this luscious gold.
On offer here and repainted in its original color, is one cool gold Pontiac. The professional paint application was done to a high standard just a few years ago and minus a tiny brush touch up here or there and a few tiny imperfections. She still presents wonderfully. It is a rare look by today standards and yet it’s just right on this ’79 indeed. The dark glass T Tops help to set the package off in a smart fashion, along with the very nice honeycomb wheels.

This car needs detail TLC, some tears on the front seats, rear seats look like they never had use. after market CD Sat radio. x2 6x9 on the speaker shelf. dash speaker not working, RPM gauge not working. temp gauge not working, Driver's windshield wiper is acting funny, minor surface rust in the trunk pan. and small area on the front drivers lower fender.
Always garaged and ran weekly.

The first Trans Am rolled out of the factory assembly lines and into Americana automotive history in the year 1969. Just 689 of them where produced that first year and if you have one you already know it is a six figure collectable.
There was a basic design change in 1970 and that variant carried forward for the next decade with relatively modest changes by today’s standards. Truthfully, if you were sitting inside the cabin of any model produced over that 10 year span you would need some time to work out what year example you were piloting. That is a good thing because Pontiac got it bang on early on and knew to leave well enough alone.
